Quick Easy Homemade Fabric Refresher
This quick easy homemade fabric refresher is perfect to help deodorize your home and freshen your kids rooms! It is a must for homeowners with pets!
Our house is full of stinky kids and dogs. Seriously, they are gross. Add the heat and humidity we have been dealt this last week and it’s smelly! In the past, I have used Febreeze but found the scents overwhelming and not to mention they cost a fortune. I am also a little sensitive to certain scents so finding something my nose can tolerate is a little more challenging. This quick easy homemade fabric refresher is so INEXPENSIVE and smells amazing!
I came across this when looking for ways to get pee out stain/smell out of mattress. Now you can’t use this to get pee out of mattress. This refresher is more of temporary solution or a way to just freshen things up. I find myself using it almost daily. There are also so many other uses.
My favorite uses:
- Ironing laundry – This will also help remove wrinkles.
- Freshening up couch pillows
- Curtains
- Dog bed
- Rugs
In order to make this easy quick homemade fabric refresher, you will need:
- Empty spray bottle
- Water
- Fragrance Boosters (I LOVE method brand)
First, add 1 capful of your favorite fragrance boosters to any empty spray bottle then fill it with hot water. Give it a little shake and allow the beads to dissolve. Ta-Da! I even made a cute label that will fit this bottle perfectly!
I use this before guests arrive, on our pillows, couches and carpets. It is more effective and safer than a candle. There are also so many scents out there you can create whatever scent strikes your fancy. The method scent I am using is ginger mango. I am also using it in my laundry and I am OBSESSED. Best product/smell ever! I have really became a huge fan of method products.

Ah, this will be perfect in between washes for some of the cushions the cats like to sleep on. It might be nice for the carpeted cat tower too.

Amazing! This is a great idea. I feel the same as you with the regular fresheners. They usually seem to be too overpowering and cause my sinuses to act up. Plus they don’t seem to mask the smells.
