This simple, tasty homemade Nesquik recipe satisfies all your chocolate milk cravings. It is also great for hot chocolate too!I love making memories with my kids. One of our special treats at the end of the day is a small cup of chocolate milk. After moving to Canada and not being able to immediately find our favorite stir in powder, we started making this simple, tasty homemade Nesquik recipe. Not only does it taste amazing, but it only take a couple minutes to put together!

We did find another version of Ovaltine here, one of my kids absolute favorites, but it just didn’t taste right. It is crazy how products taste so differently between the US and Canada. After a major disappointment, we stuck to our homemade version and could not be happier! Plus, it is so convenient and without any preservatives.

Tips

  1. I make a large batch at a time, but it is simply 1 part cocoa to 3 parts sugar. You can very easily make smaller batches, like included on the recipe card.
  2. Mix with warm milk for delicious hot chocolate. As an added bonus, top with marshmallow cream.
  3. To help mix with cold milk, first put 1 – 2 tablespoons of the mix into a small amount of  hot water. You need just enough to liquify the mixture. Sometimes dry ingredients do not mix well in cold beverages and this ensures a perfect chocolate milk, every time!
